In 8 months, I've fallen in love with this place.
Advantages:
The nearly-awesome climate compared to North India.
Blazing fast Beam internet. Enough said!
Being a girl, you can walk out alone after dark and not be scared.
The warmth of people here. The Telugu speaking crowd do not shy from speaking in broken Hindi just to make you comfortable.
Cost of living and food here is less compared to other metros.
Less traffic during rush hours compared to other metros.
A perfect amalgation of the old and the new.
I love the food here!
If you have a lot of friends in IT sector, you're in luck coz everyone lives in the same 20 km area. Unlike in other cities you don't need to spend hours getting to their house.
Disadvantages:
Being a vegetarian, you can't relish the amazing Hyderabadi cuisine.
No metro rail. :-(
Nearly every weekend destination is >12 hours away. So many weekends are spent in the city, compared to your friends in Bangalore.
Nightlife is OK compared to Bangalore.
Edit: April is upon us and so is the scorching heat. The near-awesome weather is absent from March-May.
