Lymph is the fluid that circulates throughout the lymphatic system. Thelymph is formed when the interstitial fluid (the fluid which lies in the interstices of all body tissues) is collected through lymph capillaries.

Schematic of lymph formation. In every parenchymal organ the interstitial fluid is formed by products of cellular secretions, metabolism/catabolism as well as solute, molecules and proteins that extravasate from blood capillaries.
