In women, around 50% of all testosterone which circulates in the blood is produced in the interstitial cells of the ovaries. The adrenal glands and other tissues produce the remainder of a woman's testosterone. Like a man's testes, a woman's ovaries are stimulated to produce testosterone by signals from LH.
