Malinowski was a very famous British anthropologist who proposed the need theory where he said that a practice needs to function to fulfill the needs of the individual for functioning of a better society moreover he also said that it should not include the whole society as one for the needs but an individual as everyone has different needs. For example if a person wants something it is not necessary that everyone belonging to the same society will want it.
