The origin of life was proved from the experiment conducted by Stanley and Urey. They assembled an atmosphere similar to that of early Earth which contained ammonia, methane and Hydrogen Sulphide over water

This was maintained just below 100°C and sparks were passed over water to simulate lightning.

At the end of the week, 15% of the carbon from methane had been converted into simple compound of carbon including amino acids.

Thus, this proves that life originated from inorganic matter.
