The parts of the blood are plasma, red blood cells(RBCs), white blood cells(WBCs) and platelets.
Plasma- Plasma is the liquid part of the blood, also called the fluid matrix. The red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets are immersed in it. It is colourless and contains 90 percent of water.
Red blood cells- Red blood cells are embedded in plasma and are round in shape. They are red in colour due to the presence of red pigment called haemoglobin inside them. They do not have nuclei.
White blood cells- White blood cells are spherical in shape or irregular in shape. They have a nucleus in each cell. They fight infections and protect us from diseases. They make chemicals known as antibodies which are responsible for providing immunity to our body.
Platelets- Platelets are the tiny fragments of special cells formed in the bone marrow. They help in the clotting of blood in a cut or wound.
Hope it helps!!
Thanks
