Compounds of carbon with hydrogen in Organic Chemistry are hydrocarbons.

1. Alkanes, also called paraffin.
General formula is CnH2n+2
First member is methane (CH4).

2. Alkenes, also called olefin.
General formula is CnH2n
First member is Ethene (C2H4)

3. Alkyne,
General formula is CnH2n-2
First member is Ehyne (C2H2)

4. Alcohol
General formula is CnH2n+1OH
First member is methanol (CH3OH)

5. Aldehyde
General formula is CnH2n+1CHO
First member is methanal or formaldehyde (HCHO)
