Indirect speech - not give the directly information about the sentence.

DIRECT SPEECH :-

When the exact words of speaker are placed between double inverted ("....") it is said to be Direct Speech.

Example :-

• Mahesh said, "I am very tired today"

• She asked, "Where is my textbook "

Said and asked in above sentences are reporting word.

INDIRECT SPEECH :-

When the substance of what the speaker had said (not his exact words) is reported,it is said to be indirect speech.

Example :-

• Mahesh said that he was very tired that day.

• She asked where her textbook was.

There are 4 kinds of sentences-

  • Assertive Sentence
  • Imperative Sentence
  • Exclamatory Sentence
  • Interrogative Sentence
