The rate of change of momentum is directly proportional to the force applied and it will take place in the direction of force.

answer

Newtons second law of motion states that the rate of change of momentum of a body is directly proportional to the applied unbalanced force and the change takes place in the direction of the applied force .

The rate  of change of momentum of a body can be written as:-

force= change in momentum / time taken

this is how the second law of motion can be explained
