The term outside the bracket (1/2) is to be multiplied to both 180 and y.
When 1/2 is multiplied to 180, it becomes 90 and when it is multiplied to y, it becomes y/2.
1/2(180 - y)
=1/2(180) - 1/2(y)
= 90 - y/2
When 1/2 is multiplied to 180, it becomes 90 and when it is multiplied to y, it becomes y/2.
1/2(180 - y)
=1/2(180) - 1/2(y)
= 90 - y/2
