no bcoz it should divide both the terms so the correct and is 90-y/2

akhilesh33: 1/2 multiplied by 180-y . so 180-y divided by 2

The term outside the bracket (1/2) is to be multiplied to both 180 and y.
When 1/2 is multiplied to 180, it becomes 90 and when it is multiplied to y, it becomes y/2.

1/2(180 - y)
=1/2(180) - 1/2(y)
= 90 - y/2
