Simple past means when we talk about a thing which recently happened in the past. In hindi, these sentences end with ता था, ता थी, etc.

For example:-

मुकेश ने खाना खाया था

In english:-

Mukesh ate the food.

Rules for simple past:-

Affirmative:- Subject+Verb 2nd form+object.

Negative:- Subject + did not +verb 1st form + object.

Interrogative:- Did+subject+verb 1st form+object+?

Examples of simple past:-

1) Nitika sang song sweetly.

2) Nitika did not sing song sweetly.

3)Did Nitika sing song sweetly?

I tried my best to give answer... If helped, please mark me as the brainliest!!!

The simple past tense, sometimes called the preterite, is used to talk about a completed action in a time before now. The simple past is the basic form of past tense in English. The time of the action can be in the recent past or the distant past and action duration is not important.
