the psalm of life can be referred to as a prayer rather than a poem . this poem tells us or gives us the message that grave is not our ultimate goal , we should always think about the present moment and live in the present because thinking about past will make us sad unnecessarily and worrying about our future is a time waste because future is unpredictable however good it seems . this poem tells us to wok in the present moment. the poet also wants us to know that we should always emerge as a hero in the battle of our life , we should think that our life is a battle field and we are soldiers and we should always strive till we win in the battle of life .
this poem also tells us that every heart beat of ours gets us close to our death and so we should just act in present .
we should never make death our ultimate goal in life and we should leave our footprints on the sand of time so that the new generation can follow our footprints and they can also create history.
at the end the poem just wants us to know that god will help us if we help ourselves and  that we should neither be too happy about a thing nor be too sad because of any reason , just be calm and keep your emotions under control.
