1)kinetic energy is the energy stored in an object due to its motion.Thus all the matter around us possesses kinetic energy as the atoms inside it keeps on moving .In solids kinetic energi is less as atoms are tightly packed while in liquids it is a little more and is gases it is maximum.

2)if we increase the temperature of the substance the kinetic energy also increases like in solid ,when we heat solid then the temperature increases and it melts and becomes liquid,means that the kinetic energy increases as we heat a substance
