The intake of oxygen in releasing of carbondioxide is called breathing. It occurs in two steps.

Explanation:

1.) Inspiration :- During inspiration, the diaphragm becomes flat in shape, the muscles of the ribs contract and rib cage moves in upward direction due to this, the volume of chest cavity increases and pressure decreases so the atmospheric air comes inside the lungs.

2.) Expiration :- During expiration, the diaphragm comes back to its original position. The muscles of the ribs relax, rib cage comes down due to this, volume decreases and pressure increases so, CO2 will comes outside of the body.
