we breathe through nostrils passage to lungs and then the recieved oxygen distributed to all parts of the body tissues and body cells and all the heat we leave while we exhale carbon dioxide there will be air residual which help in exchange of gases in our body in absence of oxygen also and all this everything depends upon contraction of ribcage and diaphragm in lungs
