\bold\red{Mendeleevs Periodic Law}

According to Mendeleevs periodic law arrange the metals in increasing order of atomic masses such that every elements having same chemicals property in the same group.

Periodic law :- The chemical or physical property of an elements is the periodic function of their atomic masses.

The limitations of Mendeleves periodic law are :-

  1. It is based on atomic masses instead of atomic number.
  2. The position of hydrogen in mendeleevs periodic table is not fixed.
  3. Their is no place for isotopes in Mendeleevs period table.
  4. Some elements of heavier atomic masses are kept before elements of lower atomic masses.

This limitations can be resolved by following process.

  1. In place of atomic masses atomic number should be used.
  2. The hydrogen has given a unique place because it has dual nature and ressembles properties of both alkalis and halogens.
