LAW OF INDEPENDENT ASSORTMENT
- It is based on F2 generation of dihybrid cross.
- When two or more characters are studied simultaneously . Then , each character will inherit independentaly of another character in a next generation.
- Independent assortment cannot be concluded from monohybrid cross.
- Independent assortment is a conditional law.
- When non-alleles are located on two different homologous chromosome . Then , only independent assortment occurs but if non-alleles are located on similar homologous chromosomes . Then , independent assortment will not occur.
