Dear Student,

◆ Menstrual cycle -

  • Menstrual cycle is monthly cycle of changes in the ovaries and the endometrium which makes pregnancy possible.

There are 4 phases of menstrual cycle -

(1) Follicular phase -

  • duration - day 6 to day 13
  • follicles release estrogen causing thickening of endometrium.

(2) Ovulatory phase -

  • occurs at - day 14
  • follicle ruptures and develop into corpus luteum.

(3) Luteal phase -

  • duration - day 15 to day 28
  • Endometrium is thickened due to release of estrogen & progesterone from corlus luteum.

(4) Menstrual phase -

  • duration - day 1 to day 5
  • Corpus luteum degenerates and endometrium is sloughed off causing per vaginal bleeding & mucous discharge.

Hope this helped you. Keep asking..

Menstrual cycle:-

Basic information:-

✏️ Menstrual cycle is a natural and vital cycle in human females.

✏️ It is a 28 day cycle.

✏️ It starts at the onset of puberty and ends around 45 of age (called menopause).

Scientific aspect:-

✏️ Menstrual cycle as seen with a scientific aspect is the reason of continuity of species and indirectly variations( I mention INDIRECTLY, so do not get confused in concept of charles Darwin and the concept I'm explaining here).
