MID - POINT THEOREM

IN A TRIANGLE IF TYE MIDPOINTS OF TWO SIDE JOIN EACH OTHER, THEN THE LINE FORMED WILL BE EQUAL TO 1/2 TH OF THE THIRD SIDE.

IN THE DIAGRAM, AB AND AC HAVE MID - POINTS D AND E RESPECTIVELY.

THEREFORE, BY MID - POINT THEOREM,

DE = 1/2(BC)
