Answer:

Dalton's atomic theory says that matter is made up of indivisible particles called atoms. But the modern atomic theory contradicts it by saying that atom is a divisible particle that can be divided into protons, electrons and neutrons. 4.5.

Explanation:

Dalton said that :

1. Atoms are the ultimate particle of any element but it is wrong because atoms can be further divided into sub atomic particles i.e. electrons ,neutrons, protons.

2. Atoms of same elements aresame in all aspects i.e. size, shape and have same chemical properties . Existence of isotopes proves it wrong.

3. Atoms of different elements are different in all aspect but existence of isobars proof this point also wrong.

4. Atoms are indestructable but it is also wrong atoms can be further converted to energy.

5. Atoms of two or more elements combine in a fixed ratio to form compound. This ratio is always simple and whole no. ratio but there is also limitation in this point i.e. the atoms are not always combined in same fixed ratio.
