ANSWER-
"MOLE CONCEPT"
A MOLE (SYMBOL MOL)IS DEFINED AS THE AMOUNT OF SUBSTANCE THAT CONTAIN AS MANY ATOMS, MOLECULE, IONS ELECTRONS OR ANY OTHER ELEMENTARY ENTITIES AS THERE ARE CARBON ATOMS IN EXACTLY 12gm OF 12C.THE NUMBER OF ATOMS IN 12gm OF CARBON IS CALLED AVAGADRO'S NUMBER (NA). ✔✔
Answer:
Mole may be defined as the amount of substance that contains as many specified elementary particles as the number of atoms in 12 g of carbon 12 isotopes. The elementary particles may be atoms, molecules , electrons or ions etc.
1 mole = 6.023 × 1023. particles
1 mole of oxygen atom =6.023 × 1023. oxygen atoms.
1 mole of oxygen molecule =6.023 × 1023. oxygen molecule.
In case of ions mole concept is as follows:-
NaCl :- 1 mole of sodium chloride = 6.023 × 1023 NaCl unit
= 6.023 × 1023 Na+ ions + 6.023 × 1023 Cl- ions
Similarly in the CaCl2 :-
1 mole of CaCl2 = 6.023 × 1023 CaCl 2 unit.
= 6.023 × 1023 Ca2+ ions + 2× 6.023 × 1023 Cl- ions.
