Molecular orbital theory explains more correctly the behaviour of molecules and their chemical properties.  As per the atomic theory the electrons are limited to the orbitals around the nuclei of that atom only.

In molecular orbital theory it is said that the electrons shared in the covalent bonds are revolving around the nuclei of all atoms in the molecule.  This is in accordance with the quantum theory too.
