1.Monovalent elements are those which show a valency of 1 i.e. they can either donate or accept only one electron.

2.There are many chemical properties of every chemical compounds. ... Valency is actually the capability measurement of an element to form a chemical compound while reacting with another element. Similarly, when any element or ion gets a valency of 2,then it is known as the divalent element.

3.A trivalent element has three electrons in its valence shell. It shares three electrons with three neighboring silicon atoms in the lattice, the fourth silicon atom demands an electron but the trivalent atom has no more electron to share. This creates a void in lattice which we call it has hole.

Explanation:

monovalent = an atom having valency equal to one is known as ambivalent

Ex - K, Rb, H

trivalent = a cation having valency three is known as trivalent.

Ex - Al+3, Cr+3, Bi+3.

Divalent = A bivalent anion is an anion with an overall charge of -2 and valence of 2 is also known as divalent.

Ex - sulfide ion -2
