Initially, dams were built only for storing rain water to prevent flooding but now it became multipurpose. Narmada is the only river to construct a over thousands of projects . as it results I may problems like floods . multiple purpose project are the projects to generate power , for mining , agriculture etc... but it must take more area near that project it results in soil erosion
