What is multiplication?

=> Repetive addition of a same number over many times is called Multiplication.

How does it Helps?

=> Multiplication makes addition of same number over many times faster.

Example:

4 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 +4 +4 + 4 +4 = 36

Adding 4 manually takes alot of time.

Therefore, This we can write as:

4 × 9 = 36

How do we know that 9 times 4 is equal to 36?

=> By Manually adding 9 times 4 we get 36. Hence we are told to learn tables of every number so that multiplication becomes easier.
