This causes light rays to focus at a point in front of the retina, rather than directly on its surface. Nearsightedness also can be caused by the cornea and/or lens being too curved for the length of the eyeball. In some cases, myopia is due to a combination of these factors.

Myopia(Near Sightedness)

1)It is a condition of eye in which a person is able to see the the nearby objects clearly but he/she can't see the distant objects Clearly.

2)It can be self detected or can be detected by diagnosis.It is most common eye problem in countries like India.

3)When the object is at far point,(generally taken as Infinity) then the image is formed before the Retina and not on it. This gives a blurred image of the object.

Causes=>

It can caused due to two reasons =>

A) Due to excessive curvature of eye lens

B) Due to longening of eye ball.

Methords of correction =>

1)By using CONCAVE LENS of suitable power.

2)Keratorefractive surgery which uses lasers to reshape the cornea.
