if a dipole is kept in an uniform electric field it experience a rotating force , it is called a torque .then this torque on the dipole when a uniform electric field is applied the positive charge and negative charge experienced equal forces .I.e . given by F = qE but opposite in direction .so the net force is zero .since two equal and opposite direction forces acts as two different points .........
