➡️Nervous system is the control centre of the body.

It is a network of nerve cells and nerve fibres.

➡️It provides the fastest means of communication between different parts of the body. It sends stimuli in the form of electric impulse to the concerned part of the body.

{ \underline{ \underline{ \rm{MECHANISM \: OF \: NERVOUS \: SYSTEM - }}}}

1. Receiving the stimulus :- The Receptors or sensory cells receive stimulus from the external or internal environment.

2. Processing of stimulus :- Receptors convert the stimulus into electrical nerve impulse. This process is called transduction.

3. Transmission of nerve impulse :- The Receptors transmit the electrical nerve impulse to the brain or spinal cord by sensory nerves.

4. Interpretation of nerve impulse :- The nerve impulse is interpreted by the central nervous system (Brain and spinal cord).

5. Transfer of response :- The interpreted nerve impulse is transferred from CNS to the effector organ by motor nerve. The effector organs may be muscles or glands.
