Explain neutralisation reaction. What do you mean by dilution? What are the common things that a person should kept in mind while diluting a concentrated acid?

Answer:

The more water is involved, the more of a heat sink you have to absorb this heat, preventing boiling and splattering. When mixing two acids, always add the stronger acid to the weaker. It is possible to add half the required amount of water, diluting it fully, then slowly mixing in the remaining water.

Explanation:

1 In chemistry, neutralization or neutralisation (see spelling differences) is a chemical reaction in which acid and a base react quantitatively with each other. In a reaction in water, neutralization results in there being no excess of hydrogen or hydroxide ions present in the solution.

2. Dilution meaning.

the action of making a liquid more dilute.

"the milk factor is greatly reduced by dilution

the action of making something weaker in force, content, or value.

3. While we are diluting an acid in water care must be taken before hand itself. → The acid should be added slowly to the water with constant stirring. → NOTE : We should "NEVER" add water to the acid because a lot of heat will be evolved from the mixture and it may even splash out
