Newton's First Law of Motion

• LAW OF INERTIA:

Everybody continues to be in its state of rest or of uniform motion in a straight line unless it compelled by some external applied force to change that state.

• INERTIA:

It is the property of abody by virtue of which it resists any change in its state of rest or of motion in a straight line on its own is called its Inertia.

• MASS AND INERTIA:

Mass is the measure of Inertia of a body. A heavier body has more Inertia than a lighter body.

he first law states that ever object will remains at rest or in uniform motion in a straight lines unless compelled to change its state by the action of an external force. this is normally taken as the definition of inertia.... the amount of the change in velocity is determined by Newton's second law of motion.
