NEWTON's 1st law of motion :- A body continue to be in its state of rest or uniform motion along a straight line unless it is acted upon by some extent force to change the state .
I.e acceleration ,
a = 0 when , external force (F) = 0
(a) Actually Newton's 1st law is Qualitative law but not quantitative .
e.g it tells us that to produce an acceleration in a body we need a force but the law doesn't tell us how much force is needed .
example :- A book is rest on the table .unless we doesn't apply any external forces on the book .
this law also gives the concept of INERTIA.
INERTIA :- inertia is an inherent property of all the bodies by virtue of which they cannot change their stare of rest or a uniform motion along a straight line by their own .
[ note :- Normally, students think inertia is a type of force that keeps objects in motion .
but this is totally wrong .
inertia is not a force but it is a basic property of a body or system which is the measure of degree of unwillingness of a body or system to change its States of test or of a uniform motion along a straight line . ]

➡ The frame of reference in which Newton's 1st law is valid is known as INERTIAL FRAME . i.e, if a frame of reference is at rest or in uniform motion , it is called inertial while if a frame of reference is accelerated one , then it is called non - inertial .
➡ Newton's laws are not valid in non - inettial frame ( accelerated frame ) .

hi friend,
→NEWTON'S FIRST LAW OF MOTION←
<>a body continues to be in state of rest or motion until or unless we apply an external force on it ..
<> if a body is in state of rest, then it continues to be at rest until we apply an external force
<>if a body is in uniform motion ,then it continues to be at state of uniform motion until we apply an external force on it
<>this law also gives the concept of inertia ..
INERTIA:- it is an inability of a body to change its state of rest or motion..
mass is the measure of inertia
<>as mass increases ,inertia increases
I hope this will help u ;)
