Non cooperation movement was conceptualised as a non violence resistance of the British rulers . However it devlope a violent streak. The number plantation workers in assam works under very strict rulers and regulations. As per the inland immigration act of 1859, thae plantation workers were rarely allow to leave tea garden without permission and were seldom allowed to go back homes.Inspired by non cooperation movement , thousand of workers disobeyed the British authoiries left plantation and go back to the home.
