o-Nitrophenol is more acidic than the o-cresol, and you can easily verify this with the help of the pKa values.


When you check the pKa value of o-nitrophenol, it will be 7.2.


On the other hand, for the o-cresol, it is 10.316.


Due to the negative inductive effect, o-nitrophenol has the greater acidic nature than o-cresol.
