Factors affecting ionisation potential are listed below-

There are various factors affecting ionisation potential-

Atomic radius - As radius increases, effect of nucleus decrease, hence decreasing electron potential.

Effective nuclear charge - With increase in nuclear charge, effect of nucleus increases, hence increasing ionisation potential.

Effect of orbitals - There are four orbitals named s,p,d and f present in the same order. As the proximity of orbitals decrease, ionisation potential decreases.

Shielding effect - The effect occurs due to presence of electrons in orbitals before outermost orbital.

They shield outermost electrons from effect of nucleus, thus decreasing ionisation potential.

Stability of filled orbitals - If orbitals are half filled or fully filled, they have high stability. Thus such type of filled orbitals have high ionisation potential.

Ionisation potential refers to the amount of energy required to remove electron from an element.
