Explain one reason why multi-tasking is needed in an operating system

Multi tasking is defined as the simultaneous execution of multiple programs in syncronization with each other.It does not literally mean the run "at the same time" because there's only one CPU but they work at the same time. It does not interupt the working of any one program due to another .
