Organically formed sedimentary rocks:

  • They are formed from the organic remains of plants and animals  which have been buried  and preserved for a long time  called fossils limestone is non-clastic consists of calcium carbonate , limestone and chalk
  • Carboneous rocks decayed vegetation matter buried  in swamps accumulated  in great thickness, because of pressure they lose  most of minerals except carbon become peat, lignite or coal.

Sedimentary rocks:

  • Sedimentary rocks are formed from the existing rocks parent rocks and from organic sources by the process of denudation and decomposition.
