Osmosis -Osmosis is the process in which the movement of water molecules from higher concentration to lower concentration takes place .

due to the presence of salt in plants higher concentration is created and Osmosis process takes place and plants get the food for their photosynthesis process and to maintain their mechanism for metabolic

activities

Osmosis with different 'salt concentrations' in a medium in which the 'living plant cell' is placed is that when placed in 'hypotonic solution', the plant cell takes up water and swells whereas when placed in a 'hypotonic' solution the cell shrinks due to 'osmosis'.

EXPLANATION:

The major process such as taking up 'water' from the soil takes place due to osmosis. The plant concentrates its entire salt content in its root tip, this causes the water from the outside environment to flow inside the leaves of a plant.
