Oxygen cycle, circulation of oxygen in various forms through nature. ... Free in the air and dissolved in water, oxygen is second only to nitrogen in abundance among uncombined elements in the atmosphere. Plants and animals use oxygen to respire and return it to the air and water as carbon dioxide (CO2).

hope it helps❤❤

Answer:

Oxygen Cycle

Oxygen is the second most abundant element in the atmosphere and is present to the extent of about 21 per cent and is essential for all life processes. Atmosphere and oceans are the main pool for oxygen. The oxygen dissolved in water (oceans, etc.) is responsible for sustaining aquatic plants and animals. It is also a constituent of oxide and carbonate ores. There is a continuous exchange of oxygen between the atmosphere and water surfaces of all water bodies. The total amount of oxygen in the biosphere is constant. The oxygen cycle is based on the exchange of oxygen among the segments of the environment, viz., atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere and biosphere. It plays a key role in atmospheric chemistry and life process.
