Oxygen cycle, circulation of oxygen in various forms through nature. Free in the air and dissolved in water, oxygen is second only to nitrogen in abundance among uncombined elements in the atmosphere. Plants and animals use oxygen to respire and return it to the air and water as carbon dioxide (CO2).

Required Answer :

Oxygen cycle : It is a cycle in which oxygen moves through the three main regions of the earth that is the biosphere , lithosphere and the atmosphere.

Steps involved in Oxygen cycle are :

Step 1 :

  • During the process of photosynthesis , the plants release oxygen back into the atmosphere as the by product.

Step 2 :

  • All living creatures absorbs this oxygen and leaves carbon dioxide back into the atmosphere.

Step 3 :

  • The carbon dioxide is absorbed again by plants and the process continues.

After the last stage , the stage 1 is repeated and cycle continues.
