Pacemaker(sino-atrial node,"SAN")

Location:-

located in the walls of the right auricles .

• The peacemaker (SAN) is present near opening of the superior vena cava while the AVN node (atrio-venticular node ) is found near the tricuspide valve.
• A bundle of muscle fibres called 'BUNDLE OF HIS' begins from AVN and extends to the inter ventricular septum.
• Bundle of HIS consists of branches of fibres running along the walls of the ventricles,called 'Purkinje fibres'.
• All these together forms a system which creats an impulse and conducts it to every part of the heart.

Note:-

Sometimes the 'peacemaker' become faulty causing heart trouble.An artificial "pace-maker" may be fixed in the heart of such a person.

• These artificial pace-makers need a large amount of money .
