explain photosynthesis ?
Answers
Answer:
In general prospect “photosynthesis” is the mechanism of producing nutrients in green plants. Green is important for photosynthesis to be carried out as an organelle called chloroplast having chlorophyl on-site is needed. And it also gives the plant color green.
Chloroplasts have the ability to convert carbon dioxide and water to nutrients using sunlight through chlorophyls. Photo- which means “light” and synthesis which means to put together is constructing with light.
So here you see carbon dioxide, water and sunlight is needed. You see how green plants produce oxygen for us :) And the glucose can be converted into pyruvate which releases adenosine triphosphate (ATP) by cellular respiration. ATP transports chemical energy within cells for metabolism. Photosynthesis is done mostly at leaves of plants. Water comes from the roots via xylem vessels; carbon dioxide is absorbed through “stoma”s which are special structure for respiration at plants. Oxygen goes out of the leaf throug stoma, glucose is been carried to the cells of plant.
Photosynthesis not only occurs at green plants. Some bacteria and protistans carry this out too.
