plate tectonic theory states the interaction of different layers of Earth's crust with respect to each other. when tectonic plates collide, formation of mountains, peaks or plateaus take place.Also, one layer might shift below or above the layer it is interacting with.

HERE IS UR ANSWER

According to the theory of tectonics the crust of the Earth is formed by seven major and some minor plates. The movement of the plates results in the building of stresses within the plates and the continental rocks above, leading to folding, faulting and volcanic activities.
These movements are classified into three types. While some plates come towards eachother and form convergent boundary. Some plates move away and from divergent boundary and some crumble or one may slide under the other to form transform boundary.
