star fish is not a true fish but belongs to phylum echinoderms. Star fish mostly feed on animals that have hard shells with a chemical called calcium carbonate. When the shell opens the star fish jumps out its stomach through its mouth to feed on the soft part of the other animal that is inside the shell. Then the star fish's stomach goes back into the body sl9wly and the food gets digested.
