the plane of polarization is the plane containing the direction of vibration of particles of the medium and the direction of propagation of wave.when these directions of ordinary light is confined to one plane the light is said to be polarized .
to produce a polarized light is by removing all waves from the beam except those having vibrations along one particular direction .and this is acheived by the processes as selective absorption,reflection,refraction by crystals e.t.c.
if un polarized light is made incident on a sheet of polaroid,the transmitted light will be plane polarized.
