The form that caste takes in politics is the end result of "politicisation of caste". Caste and kinship assert their identity and compete for positions, statuses and roles. Infact political relationships end up being no more than projections of social relationships. Politics, becomes an instrument in the hands of a particular stratum in society to establish and consolidate power over other strata. On the other hand, caste becomes a category and vote bank politics takes place.
