It is the ability of the eye lens to adjust its focal length.
The minimum distance at which we are able to see objects clearly without strains called near point of the eye.
The farthest point up to which the eye can see objects clearly is called the far point of the eye.
Near point is 25 cm.
Far point is infinity.

Good morning friend,
I am meritkshitij here.
The ability of eye lens to adjust its focal length in such a way that a sharp image of an object is formed on retina is called power of accomodation.
WHY IT IS NECESSARY?
it is necessary becoz
(I)position of retina is fixed, thus image distance will always be same.
(ii) but object distance may vary,so to form its image in a fixed position every time, eye changes its curvature or focal length.
NEAR POINT
the nearest point after which human eye can see without strain is called NEAR POINT.
it is '25 cm' from a normal adult eye.
FAR POINT
the largest distances up to which human eye can see is called FAR POINT.
for a normal adult eye, it is infinity.
THANKS.
