foaming :

foaming is the formation of thick layer of steam bubbles on the top of the water surface inside the boiler due to :

  • higher concentrations of impurities
  • presences of vegetable or animal fats in feed water
  • increase in level of dissolved ans suspend solids
  • increase in boiled water level

Priming :

priming is the condition of boiler in which large amounts of water is carried along with steam in to the steam line. it caused:

  • excessive foaming
  • insufficient steam place
  • because of sudden rush of steam
