The mouth is the beginning of the digestive tract. In fact, digestion starts here as soon as you take the first bite of a meal. Chewing breaks the food into pieces that are more easily digested, while saliva mixes with food to begin the process of breaking it down into a form your body can absorb and use.

hey here is your answer....

digestive system

the digestion of food Starts in mouth itself. our mouth secretes salivary glands which helps to digest the starch of food into maltose and also softens the food. partly digested food then goes into stomach. it contains dilute HCL which kills bacteria and creates acidic medium , mucus which protects the lining of stomach and pepsin which digests the proteins.then the food goes to small intestine .small intestine receives the secretion from liver that is bile juice and from pancreas that is pancreatic juice. bile juice is alkaline in nature it converts fat globules into small fat globules. pancreatic juice secrets amylase which digests starch, trypsin which digests proteins and lipase which digests fats. some intestinal juices converts protein into amino acids, fat into fatty acids and starch into glucose or sucrose. after complete digestion small intestine absorbs digested food by small finger like projections called villi. the undigested food then passes to large intestine. then it is removed from the body via anus.
