Explanation:

when we take in food the salivary amylase acts on it and breaks the carbohydrate to maltose further it helps in lubricating the food to move easily through oesophagus . as food reaches the stomach the digestive enzymes or juices work on it . firstly there are 3 digestive juices in the stomach , hydrochloric acid(HCL),pepsin and mucous. hcl works on the food to change it to acidic medium.ths acidic medium is required for the pepsin to work on the food.pepsin is protien digesting enzyme . it breaks down the protien into simpler protien. mucous is for protection against excess of hcl when produced in stomach an corrodes it wall causing acidity. after the digestive juices of the stomach works on the food the spinchter muscle relaxes and opens so that food travels through duodenum and reaches small intestine . the small intestine is also caleed the site of digestion where all the foods get digested . it contains villi with no. of blood vessels that can carry the digested food to various organs in the body. the villi alsi increas surface area for the digestion process.the food moving through the duodenum is acted by the bile juice that creates basic medium for trypsin(pancreatic juice which is also the protien digesting enzyme) to act on it and in turn bile also breaks fats molecule into tiny fat globules as fat is insoluble in water. the intestinal juices acts on the food and turns protien to ammino acids, carbohydrates to glucose and fats to fatty acid or glycerol . the food is digested or absorbed to be used later depending on the body organs.
