hey dude!! ... so basically nutrition in alimentary canal starts up with the entry of food in mouth where it is partially digested by the act of ptyalin or salivary amylase the partially digested food now enters the oesophagus where the peristalsis movement held the food below to stomach, it contains several branched and tubular glands present on the inner surface of its wall which secretes gastric juice then food moves to SI which hv small projections called villi, they increase surface area for absorption also it receive secretion from liver and pancreas now comes to LI where undigested food is passed to anus through rectum ..here it is in the most summarized way hope it help you n if u want I can share u a flowchart of this process
